Anti-Spam Policy

The Anti-Spam Policy below forms part of our Acceptable Use Policy. It applies to all email and messaging sent using our services.

What we mean by spam

Unsolicited bulk or commercial messaging is what we mean by spam: email that lands with people who never gave you clear permission to contact them. Buy a list, rent one, scrape one, or mail addresses harvested off the web, and it counts as spam whatever the content says.

The rules for sending email

Mail only those who opted in and who are expecting to hear from you.
Keep proof of consent, and honour unsubscribe requests promptly.
Keep "From", "Reply-To" and subject lines accurate, with no forged headers and no misleading routing.
Marketing email needs a valid physical postal address in it and an unsubscribe link that works, which is what UK and EU law demands.
Hold sending volumes to what a shared platform can carry; senders at high volume should move to a dedicated email service.

Also prohibited

Running open mail relays or open proxies.
Sending phishing, malware or fraudulent messages.
Hosting a site or service advertised by spam sent from anywhere at all, known as "spamvertising", counts here even when the spam itself went out from somewhere else.

Consequences

Breach this policy and we may throttle outbound email or block it, suspend the service, or terminate the account, with notice or without it, depending on how severe the breach is and what it risks doing to our network's reputation. Offenders who act deliberately, or repeat the offence, get removed.

Received spam that originated on our network? Tell us about it, please, using our Report Abuse page or email info@ifasthosting.com with full headers so we can act.
