Data Security

Plain terms are used here to set out how we protect the data you hand over to us. This page supports our Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy.

Encryption

• In transit — any site here can answer requests over HTTPS, and we include free SSL certificates that renew themselves, so whatever passes between a visitor and your pages travels encrypted.
• At rest — we hold customer data on managed infrastructure, guarded at disk level and behind access controls.
• Passwords are never stored in plain text; account credentials are hashed.

Platform and network

• Hosting sits on enterprise-grade infrastructure, with firewalling at network level and DDoS mitigation running at the edge.
• Isolation between accounts so one site cannot reach another's files.
• Software and server images are kept patched against known vulnerabilities.

Backups and recovery

Daily backups run automatically, so a site can be brought back after a mistake, after corruption, or after an attack. They are built into the platform rather than added later. Even so, keep your own copies of anything critical: that is our advice.

Access control

• Administrative access is limited to staff who need it, and is logged.
• Strong, unique passwords work in your control panel, and we urge you to switch on whatever two-factor option is available.
• Card details go to our PCI-compliant payment provider, who handles them. Full card numbers we never see, and never store.

Responsible disclosure

Think you have found a security vulnerability? Please report it to us in private, at info@ifasthosting.com before you make it public, and leave us a fair window in which to patch the problem. Good-faith reports are welcome here, and researchers who behave responsibly will face no action from us.

Your part

Security is a shared job. Keep your own software current (WordPress core, themes, plugins), choose strong passwords, and delete whatever you have stopped using. Most site compromises begin in out-of-date third-party code, not on the hosting platform.
