How long does hosting take to set up?

The hosting account itself is normally ready within minutes of payment clearing. A welcome email arrives with your login details as soon as the account is provisioned, and you can sign in and start uploading files straight away. What takes longer, if anything does, is not the hosting — it is whatever is happening with the domain around it.

What happens immediately

Once payment is confirmed, the account is created automatically on the server: the control panel is provisioned, your storage allowance is set, and the welcome email is sent with everything needed to log in. There is no manual step on our side that holds this up under normal circumstances.

What can genuinely add time

• Registering a brand new domain. This is usually also fast, but registry-level checks occasionally introduce a short delay outside anyone's control.
• Transferring a domain from another registrar. A transfer is a different process from ordinary registration and can take several days, because the losing registrar has to release it.
• Pointing an existing domain at your new hosting. Once you update the domain's nameservers or DNS records, the change spreads across the internet gradually rather than instantly — see how long DNS propagation takes for what to expect there.
• Payment verification. Occasionally a payment needs manual review before an account activates, which is the one step that can hold up the hosting account itself rather than just the domain.

What to do while you wait

If a domain still needs to finish transferring or propagating, that does not have to block everything else. You can log in to the hosting account as soon as it is active, upload your website, and test it using a preview method rather than the live domain — see previewing a site before changing DNS. By the time the domain is fully pointing at the account, the site itself is already built and tested rather than being started from scratch.

If it has been longer than expected

If you paid and have not received a welcome email after a reasonable wait, check your spam folder first — automated account emails are occasionally filtered there by mail providers that do not recognise the sender yet. If it genuinely is not there, contact support with the order reference and we can confirm the account status directly.
